Upgrade question

I think I need to upgrade my video card currently a Viper 550 TNT. Should I go with a Radeon, or should I wait for something else to be released?

well the video card will be mainly for game playing - right now UT and Diablo II.
Also, I use it for playing DVD's through to my television which isn't great using software decoding. And coding though that has little to do with the graphics card.
