Upgrade question

When is it time to upgrade from 2nd Gen i5 (2500k) ?

i have mine at 4.0GHz however it doesn't seem to be having such a good performance return anymore.

Did you try going above 4.0? I have mine at 4.49 but it is showing its age for sure.

Personally I'm waiting to see what zen brings. Even if it does not beat Intel, it looks like it will drive prices down. I would wait until after CES to see if Zen details get presented.

Is there something in particular it isn't doing well anymore? I don't see an SSD in your sig, if you don't have one, that will be a more significant upgrade than even going to a shiny new i7 7700K.

Yeah this, wait for zen to play out over the next month and then see where prices settle.

Updated sig. well this seems like a good time to upgrade, will look at the offerings presented in the coming mths.
