Upgrade Question

First off, I'm cheap. Now that is out of the way, lets dicuss my situation.

I have a Barton 2500 XP on a MB that seems to slowly be lossing its marbles. Since I am cheap, I have put off this upgrade of a while and now with prices droping, it may be the time to jump on something.

I would prefer to reuse my 6800GS (unlocked and overclocked). This is an AGP video card (which of course limits my options).

I am considering jumping to a ASRock MB with a 3800 X2 and reusing the rest of the system. Cost for upgrade is in the low $200 range.

Does this make sense? Are there any other good AGP motherboards that would allow me to continue to use this card?

Long term, this will be the kid's and wife's PC. I'm just looking to get another year or so out of things and would prefer to replace this MB on my terms instead of after it takes out my data, etc, durning a random act of unkindness.

Thanks for the help.

I would recomend a used nf3 MoBo as the asrock's are crap that only use x4 in the pci-e slot. Save up some $$$ and upgrade to s939/am2/775 c2d is the other option.
