Upgrade question 7900GS

Specs for my two yr old system.

DFI LanParty UT nF4 Ultra-D sys board

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 2.2ghz San Diego proc

WD 74 gig raptor main drive

2 gbs ram

Enermax whisper 535w ps

7900GS vid card (Upgraded from ATI card in the past year)

Not even sure if my mainboard supports SLI. However, if it does, my question is fork over cash for 8800GTS ($350 or so) or go SLI with another 7900GS?

I love PC gaming but the cost of keeping a rig up to date compared to consoles is staggering. If I upgrade it is to game. So I want something that can handle the latest, greatest stuff coming out.

Does not have to be all quality at sky high level but if I'm going to spend the money, might as well do it right. Plus I don't want to spend $150 or whatever a 7900gs goes for these days and then find out 6 months later it ain't good enough anymore (Two 7900gs in SLI mode that is)

Thoughts/Suggestions very appreciated.

I'd go with the GTS. I have an 8600GT and would think 7900GS in SLI won't last you past this holiday season's games. Besides, SLI is a pain to deal with.

Just wait for the 8800GT to release at end of this month. Rumors have it starting at $179-$199 for 256mb version. And you can sell the 7900GS on ebay for at least $60+ to help pay for it. You will get double the performance of your card now and DX10. Hope that helps.
