These systems were never tested by Dell with added video cards. You must choose a PCI video card and disable the onboard video card in either the bios or the device manager

Error while adding PCIe video card, "Alert! additional card cage fan needed for PCI Express card over 75 watts". You need to call Spare Parts (800-372-3355) and purchase this part number:

My system is a dell 4550 too. I missed that .
I'm waiting a bit to see if the 7800 nu or gt series is going to be agp also.
If not I'll get a cheap 6800gt overclock it to 6800 ultra speeds and play till I need a complete overhaul.

yes with a stock system. Not with many hard drives or optical drives. stock from the factory.

Mmmm, interesting. Wondering if I could run a 7800GTX in a 8400...
When you go to configure a custom 8400, they give you the option of 2 optical, 2 HDD, SB Live, and the X850XT PE/6800 Ultra. If they can get away with all that with the same stock 350W PSU, I don't see why I can't get away with a 7800GTX with my configuration. I hope 😕.

I have also been looking at upgrading my processor to the 3.06. I have read that due to the Hyperthreading you will need to reload the OS.

Also Starmicro has a pretty shaking rating.

Resellerratings

Newegg currently does have these refurbished.

3.06 at Newegg

I would be that there is a good chance these were returned because whoever bought them was hoping for a 30 cap processor and it wasn't or it didn't overclock well.

You can just run it with the HT disabled in the bios.
