Upgrade now?

I was thinking about upgrading my Geforce 2 64mb GTS to a Geforce 3 Ti200 of some kind. Main games I am looking forward to is Unreal II and UT II(when it finally comes which will be a while). I think my system is fine for now which is a Asus A7V133,Athlon 1gig@1.2 default voltage(bought it pretested@1.4) and 256mb PC133.

I heard Unreal II will be released in March.

Any ideas?

Sell your current card and purchase the Gainward 128MB GF3 Ti200 for 205 shipped. 😉

whoa 128MB huh? Didnt know they released a 128mb video yet. Are GF3 Ti500's 128mb? Anyway what will the 128mb onboard memory be able to do that the 64mb won't?

<< nope.....128MB geforce3 card for a hair over $200?? don't think so. not yet anyway. >>

Upgrade a Geforce 2 64mb GTS? Now?
Who's money are you spending?

That is a killer card you own. The Ti 200 won't be that much better. Besides, with the Radeon 3 and GeForce 4 coming out this spring, you can either get your Ti card cheaper when these newer cards suppress that price, or go for the bleeding edge, if that's your pleasure.😎

I don't think you can justify buying a new card for one game (even if it is UT). I'd wait until it at least comes out so you can try it with your current graphics card to see if it's playable. I think a good time to upgrade is when you own a few games your graphics card can barely manage to play.

Well said. And always true unless you find a really hot deal.😉

Also wait closer to the time the game comes out, then either get the fastest card out there or get the gf3 series which should be much cheaper since the gf4 and radeon 3 should be out.

Well I sold my bro inlaw my GTS card. I was gonna buy a Geforce 2 Ultra for $100 off this other dude I know. But then I saw I can get a Geforce 3 Ti200 for around $50 more online. Any ideas? I have to get something now no matter what. Thing is will the Ti200 run all the next gen games to come out in say the next 7-8 months 1024x768 with highest detail and is it worth the extra $50?

Wait the most you can wait... if it's for Unreal II in March, wait until then... Prices will drop by then, especially with the probable arrival of the GF4, R300, and KyroIII in Feb.

Will UnrealII be out in March? I don't know if a 8mb S3 Trio will last me untill then. I need to play AQ2,UT and a couple others. Besides this card is a loaner till I find another. I know PC prices drop but how much are we talking a GF3 Ti200 will drop in the next month? If its just $10-$30 I would rather just buy now. Or should I just buy my friends GF2 Ultra and sell it when the Ti200/Ti500 come down it price?

If you have a opinion on the matter I would like to here it.
