Its in the specs now, how would yu guys go about upgrading it the most cost effective way?

Swap the processor? Do a GPU swap? add a gpu in parallel?

Do nothing?

1) SSD for OS, snappiness. <#1 upgrade imo>
2) Upgrade the GPU to HD7950/GTX670 if you play latest modern games.
3) Overclock that CPU.

his reasoning is that the prices arnt coming down fast enough and there is already better tech that faster and cheaper to produce. Some type of organic state drive he was saying. Im on the fence about it but actually leaning a bit his way. I think I know what hes talking about it has something to do with salt I just cant remember the specifics.

If there is something that's much faster and cheaper than SSDs, it's probably 5 years away 🙂. For the foreseeable future, SSD is the future of fast storage on laptops/desktops. When any new technology comes around and supercedes it, it probably won't be cheap either since it'll have a performance advantage and low volumes (just like when SSDs, Plasma screens, Blu-Ray drives first came and replaced older technologies).

Your list of games isn't very demanding. Your system is perfectly fine for all of them except Mafia II with MSAA+PhysX.

BTW, Braid is cool game. You should check it out. And also, you don't have Bioshock, Half-Life 2 on your list. Those are almost a must-play I would say.

ive been done with Braid, bioshock and HL2. Batman is pretty demanding but thats just a list of what I have bought from steam.

SSD are going nowhere and the prices have been dropping like crazy lately. Whoever told you that isn't following the market. Plus, that organic drive stuff has been touted by some companies for over 5 years and they have produced zero hardware.
