Graphics will run HL2...not great but will play fine...

If you upgrade the mobo then the SDRAM wont fit any more ....if you get socket A then the processor should still work and you may be able to overclock......but that budget isn't going to perform miracles....

Best upgrade path I can see is to get a half decent socket A board and some DDR RAM....

i need to know which socket A mobo is fit to my budget ?? and what is the best chipset platform that fit to my needs ?? i'll appreciate if u mentioned a list of socket A boards that considered good, fits to my needs and budget and also how mach memory should i add ? which brand of memory ? and in what kind of speed (PC****) ? be advised that the mobo and the memory should match the budget... together.

I hear a lot of good things about the Abit NF7-s2 (ver?). Personally I have the Asus A7N8X and it performs admirably for my needs. I like to snuggle with it. If you can afford that DFI Lanparty board, well, more power to ya! :)

Actually, you might be able to pull off a DFI Lanparty UT 250gb, Athlon 64 2800+ Retail, and 512mb of DDR for $300 or slightly under.

Newegg is selling the Lanparty for $100, it's about $120-$130 for a 2800+, and you can easily pick up 512mb of PC3200 for under $80.

It'll be just -at- $300 though. And you'll have to use the retail A64 heatsink. You may want to chip in $20 more to pick up a 3000+, as well.
