Hey all, I've been hearing all about the new motherboards comming out soon / if not now for a DDR / 266Mhz FSB to be used on AMD ThunderBirds and Durons. My question is, I currently have a 900MHz ThunderBird, can I simply take this CPU outta my current A7V motherboard and place it into a newer motherboard w/ DDR features? I'm guessing all that has changed are the motherboards, not the CPUs. Am I right here? Thanks

Correct, the motherboard still does the 200 mhz bus, but also does the 266 mhz bus!!! Giving one more overclocking options. Most people with these mobos don't even have 266 mhz cpus, they are really just coming onto the open market. Although many are running them at 266 mhz with a little lower multipliers. I've heard of people using the new Iwill KK266 (not DDR memory, but has 266 mhz bus) and hitting Fsb speeds over 333 mhz. Nice performance gains. DDR memory is more affordable and available now also. Hope this helps and good luck. D
