my current config is
Intel core 2 duo E6600 @3Ghz
asus P5NE SLI
2GB ram

2 X Nvidia geforce 8800GTS 640MB IN SLI

can any one tell what to upgrade the processor or the Graphics card

i can only choose any one of them.( coz i have only 250$-350$ available with me)

should i go for CORE 2 quad 9550 or the nvidia geforce GTX 275
plzz help

I am reluctant to buy the 275 coz its DX10 like my GTS's and nvidia is due releasing DX11 cards later this year....... but as far as the processor is concerned its over 2 yrs old now and my mobo can only support the core 2 quad and not the newer i7's.

But I can upgrade my GFX only if there is a drastic increase in performance (over 40%) in games like crysis...etc.....

and i also came across several articles were the performance of GPU has increased simply due to a better processor(can any one confirm this)

double the ram and call it a day. you have no reason to upgrade unless you want to play crysis on ultra or something.

Personally I would get a GTX260 core 216 and OC it. The price premium on the 275 is not really worth it. If you drop another 216 in at a later date, that would be a monster machine.

At this time, however, there arent many games where you would ever need more than a 216 at 1680X1050.

Use the money you save by finding a good deal on the 216 and throw in an extra 2GB of RAM.

In some situations where SLI does not scale very well, you will notice a difference.

GT200 is a much more powerful chip. I would take the 260 anyday over 2X GTS.

Are there games where you are having graphics issues? Or settings that you cant turn up all of the way?

A quad core will make no difference in SLI, to be honest. There are only a couple games out on the market that even use more than 2 cores, and the benefit is debatable.

my primary aim is to play GTA 4 at maxed out setting so wat would be the recommended upgrade

Stop making so many posts and edit your previous posts instead.

As others said, upgrade the RAM and get a NVIDIA GTX260 or ATI 4870.

As geokilla alluded to, there is an "edit post" function in this forum, so please make use of it to edit your original post instead of repeatedly bumping your thread.

GTA4 makes use of 4 cores no?

You will need a quad core to max out GTA4. That should be your priority over upgrading the video cards. Assuming SLI is scaling (decently) with your games, two 8800GTSs should be about equal to a GTX260.
