Upgrade from an Asus A7M266

I have a friend looking to build a new comp on a budget and I told him I may be willing to part with my A7M266 and extra processor. My question is should I wait for some of the new boards comming out or upgrade now?

Age old question with no perfect answer. To wait might get you a few more milliseconds of speed but will you even notice it? Not likely. Heck that A7M 266 you are so willing to part with is still a real good board that can take up to an XP 2000+ (last I checked) with a BIOS upgrade. Not too shabby if you ask me. Yes you could wait for more native USB 2, AGP 8X (yeah right), faster DDR rates, etc. But for how long?? Boards are hardly ever released when they are supposed to be so the wait could be considerable. Some are already out there but they are few and far between. I say go for it now if you have the $$ and get the best you can at today's prices.
