I'll probably be building a new rig in about a year, so a new mobo and cpu are out of the question right now. My current rig was just a crappy eMachines that I upgraded with a better case that I had laying around, 2 gigs of ram, better cpu and graphics card. I have my cpu overclocked up to about 2.6 Ghz, do you guys think that I would see a big improvement going from an eVga 8600gt to an 8800 gts superclocked graphics card (640 mb version), or would the crappy cpu limit me?

What resolution do you play at (or would like to play at)? There is a world of difference between an 8600gt and an 8800GTS, regardless of any limitation. If you play at high resolutions, the bottleneck wouldn't matter much. If you play at lower resolutions, like 1024x768... well, then don't buy a new card.

I'm using a 22 inch widescreen, I believe the resolution is 1650 x 1080, or something like that.
