Upgrade cpu/mobo/ram or GPU?

Depends on what you do with your system. If this is for gaming it also depends on exactly what games you'll be playing at what resolution.

why on earth would you "upgrade" to an AMD cpu over what you have now? that would be more of a side grade and a pure waste of money especially for gaming. for about 75 bucks more you could buy Sandy Bridge and wipe the floor with that AMD cpu.

if you just want to improve your gaming for the time being then a faster gpu is probably all you really need. as cusideabelincoln mentioned though, your res will determine what needs to be done from a gaming standpoint.

EDIT: you already have the 6950 according to your other thread. you also said you game at 1440x900 so really even the gtx260 was fine and the 6950 was unnecessary.

:| im sad, should i return it?

I am just confused of why you asked which to get when you already have the 6950. I personally would not spend 300 bucks on a gpu to game at 1440x900. your current gtx260 can handle every game at that low res. and also the gtx260 is a better match to your cpu at just 1440x900.

I do already have it, but i meant that i could return it, and i get lag in some of my games with the 260.

BLOPS, BFBC2, high/med
EDIT: actually almost all of my games lag on high.
thats not because of your gpu for sure. look at reviews and you will see that a gtx260 can play BLOPS at max settings even at a higher res. I played BC 2 at 1920 with highest settings and 2x AA and average 40-50fps. there is no way the gtx260 would cause lag at just 1440x900.

what's my fucking problem then?
EDIT: this thread is just making me more and more depressed.

Well first edit out the name calling.

Second, what other games besides BLOPS and BC2 are you playing?

A 6950 should handle these games fine with your current rig.

Also I should mention you would need to overclock that Phenom II X6 to get big noticeable performance gains over your current setup. For a gaming solution it would be wiser to go with a Core i5 or wait for Sandy Bridge. The upcoming socket 1155 Core i5 processors will be under $200 and should be the fastest gaming processors at these prices.

There could be something about your system holding it back - something software related. Bad drivers, badly fragmented hard drive, a virus, CPU-hogging programs, etc.

That wouldn't happen to me as i pay attention to what i put in my systems and think out every upgrade and all of its impacts before i pull the trigger.

but it all went away when I got the new gpu, so my gtx 260 was the problem.
