Upgrade choices?

Hi

I have about $200 to spend for an upgrade and wonder if it would be best to replace X6800 with a Q8400 or replace my 9800GTX+ with a Evga 250 1G?

I realize the at the 250 is basically my 9800GTX+ but with 1G of DDR3. I mostly play shooters and flight sims (STALKER Chernobly, FSX+Accel, IL2 1946, ROF) and wonder if I would see a difference?

Thanks all

Personally, I would keep the money pocketed and save. Do a more comprehensive upgrade at a later time.

For $200 there isn't much to buy for a graphic upgrade at the moment from your current card.
And with the rest you would need a complete overhaul.

It's a case of either waiting and seeing if there's anything approaching $200 and worthwhile when new cards come out sometime probably next month, or just holding with what you have until, like ZipSpeed said, you can do a more comprehensive upgrade.

Certainly at the current moment there's nothing really worth getting.

i saw a radeon 4850 x2 go for under $200 on ebay not too long ago, that's about the only thing i'd consider in your position.

Thanks all. I game at 1920x1200.

I potentially have $500 for an upgrade and had a 1090T 2.8 Thuban, Gigabyte 890GX mobo and 4G Gskill ram lined up.

But, I seem to have had my budget slashed to $200, damn Recession.

You can still do that upgrade. Just sell your old gear on ebay. I just upgraded from similar hardware and only spent about $200 out of pocket after selling my abit board , e8400, ddr2 ramm and my heatsink. Definately tale resale value into consideration. Good luck.
