Looking to get a P4 1.6a to overclock to at least 2.2. What are your hardware suggestions for mb, cooler, and ram?

Also, what is the most stable mb for using generic pc-133 ram that my current setup uses? Got an Asus mb currently, so I'd prefer to keep within the same brand, but other suggestions are of course, welcomed.

TIA!

I like the Asus P4B266 flavors based on the i845d chipset but alot of people have been going with the P4S333 based on the Sis645 chipset too. Either are good overclocker boards and they both use DDR ram. I would get the Kingsmax DDR333 ram out now cause it's a fairly good deal from what people have been saying. I don't think you will have to use more than the retail hsf cause supposedly that's all most people have been using even when overclocking the P4 1.6a. It's a much cooler chip than previous P4's.

If you are gonna go with a Pentium 4 setup, then you should totally drop the possibility of using PC133. DDR or Rambus is the only way to go with a Pentium 4. PC133 totally cripples the P4's performance. The two ASUS boards previously mentioned are very nice. I've used the P4b266 board, and it performed admirably. I personally like the SIS645 based P4S333 better because of the higher memory bandwith and the extra RAM slot.

i just ordered a 1.6a and a giga byte GA-8SRX. seems to be a good combo, as long as you have a good power supply (which i do).
