Upgrade-aholism... is it a problem for you?

So, how bad do you have the "upgrade bug"?

Ask yourself the following questions, and check all that apply:

1. You've changed motherboards more often the last couple of years than the oil in your car.
2. You wait until the significant other is out of the house before you do your upgrades (and hope you'll have everything back to normal before she gets home), so that you don't have to hear, "Now what are you doing to the computer?"
3. You have Compuwiz1 on your phone speed dial.
4. You regularly toggle IE windows for 4 or 5 different trading forums at once.
5. The only component your system of today shares with your system of a year ago is the powersrip you plug it all into.
6. Ever trade away a part, only to do another trade later on, and get the exact same part back?
7. Do you dread having to go to sleep, fearing you'll miss that "deal of a lifetime" on the FS/FT forums? (thanks Rainguy) :)

If you've checked 3 or more, you might be an upgrade-aholic... perhaps we can get a 12-step program going?

Does the sun rise?

is the sky blue?

Another queston should be something i've done far to many times. DO you buy things and by the time they get to you already have something newer better different etc.

I really doidn't notice it for a while but when i started buying things and selling them again before i had ever used them I new i had a problem.

Plus when i have more spare computer parts than assemebled computers it is a problem as well.

For exampl i have enough to build 2 more computers in spare parts. All i need are monitors and keybaords.

Damn man, you got it bad.;)

Actually, some nights I want to, but the computer is right next to the bed. I already get in enough trouble from the wife for the amount of time I currently spend on the computer. If I were to turn it on at night I'd be sleeping on the couch. :(

Hey wait, maybe I could move to puter to the living room, or or get a lappy from work. :D:D:D:D:D

You skipped... waiting for her to go to bed... so you can sneak out to the truck and pull that STAPLES bag out from under the seat.... and bring it into the house.

I hate it when I catch myself looking at a product I just bought... waisting my time checking out the latest price.

Ahhhhhh.... but its nice to know I am not alone. :)

every chance I get I upgrade or add something, and yes, when the wife is not home of course, if she only knew how much I actually spent, I would be single.

Damn my video card upgrade cycle has gone

Voodoo3-Radeon-Voodoo3-Voodoo5-Kyro2-Voodoo5-TNT2m64-GeForce256

and that's in the last 6 months!

Long long story. And all of the trades seemed like a good idea at the time....(except the V5-m64 one...that's just cuz my new mobo doesn't like my V5 for some reason).

I was thrown out of the 10 step plan....enrolled myself in the 50 step plan and still here I sit buying and selling. Never seeing one piece of hardware for more than a day, before it is sent right back out into the big world again.
