Upgrade advice

I need a tip on a potential upgrade of my pc.

I currently have a MSI SLI K8N platinum, A64 3000+, 2gb RAM and a 6600.
I am considering an upgrade of my pc, but I am still undecided on what to do.

Keep in mind that I don't like to play FPS and I'm more of a RTS player.. I'll graduate in a year and with the job which I hope to get it would be hard to have any time left to play or stay at the PC at home.

For this reason I was considering to buy a x1950 or a 7900gs and keep my current configuration until it won't be able to run anything.

The other option would be waiting without upgrading and getting a new Phenom x4 when they'll come out.

Any advice?
 
I think a new GPU would do the trick just fine. If you run Vista already, an 8500 or 8600 GPU might be nice so you have support for DX10. If not, I recommend the x1950xt.
