Upgrade advice

My purpose for up grade is to make my rig hold for about 2 years.

I?d thought of 2 must upgrade HW-

VC - 7600GT or the x1950 pro AGP version. Waiting for prices and reviews to come...
And memory- here is where I need your advice the most, I'm not sure if I should go for a gig kit or a 2G kit, and which models.
I know the Samsung U/TCCC chips are favorable, but on which models?

Thanks,
t73

If you upgrade 1GB more and use your present RAM to get 1.5MB, you got improvement. What the RAM manfacturer's want for their RAM is a ripoff.
I suggest you get these in the meantime.

or anything else, but matching RAM is good.

wow, I wish hyperx ddr2 was that cheap🙁
Good find, I 2nd that suggestion, especially if you're ocing. They don't use samsung tccd chips, but something from samsung that's comparable.

Isn't that means loosing Dual Channel? (On Intel rigs it supposed to be more significant - so I heard)
I'll have more RAM along w/my old KHX, but those are 256 vs 512 and the chips are different as well (Winbond BH-5 vs Samsung)
