Do a complete upgrade
you need a faster cpu too then.Rage slows down in intense fighting. Want to play Battlefield 3 Eventually.
My monitor is my TV and it's only 1920X1080.
Don't really want to build a new PC if an upgrade will work.
we can already tell that just a gpu wont fix his issue.Best solution - Buy a new card and if it doesn't fix your issue, upgrade the rest.

fps, ftw!whoa, old folks play pc games?
Is this on the boat or on land?
Thanks for the input so far. Probably gonna build or buy a PC since it seems that upgrading will be a short term band-aid.
Another question;
Seeing as how I will be gaming on a TV at 1920X1080, how much computer do I need to play games with full eye candy?
Do I need an i7 and GTX680?
Or would an i3-2120 3.3GHz and 1GB GT 545 work?
Doh! That card in an alienware X51 "Gaming PC".A GT545 most certainly would not work. That barely qualifies as a gaming card, and is only available to OEMs. In fact, it's probably slower than your 8800GTS.
