Upgrade 2k to XP

Would it be wise to upgrade 2k to XP? I want XP on one of my PCs and I really dont want to wipe clean and start from scratch. I would think that it would go alright because 2k and xp are so similar but im not sure. Anyone have good experience upgrading?
 
Personaly, I don't ever do an upgrade install to anything (I even fresh install upgraded XP home to XP Pro 🙂 ) There's too much that can go wrong, and too many thing you coulden't possibly be able to see before the upgrade. I would reccomend against it.
 
Hmm.... I'll back my crap up then upgrade. It doesnt matter if it breaks because nothing will be lost... I just really hate having to reinstall all me software...
