Updating the BIOS for onboard Fasttrack 100 lite

hey guys,

anyone know where I can get an update for an onboard fasttrack 100 lite to support 48bit LBA? In particular the motherboard is an Asus A7V-266E. Asus doesn't have an update and Promise's bios for the real fasttrack100 won't work.

any ideas?

interesting, odesn't look too terribly difficult.

did you mod the bios stuff yourself? if so did you use the newest fasttrack bios?

if you used the packaged one linked in the article, did you later try updating to the newest bios the standard way with Promise's flash util?

I didn't use a packaged one.

I downloaded the latest Asus released BIOS and removed the "lite" BIOS from it. I then added CrazyApe's modified BIOS to make it "full". You have to also use CrazyApe's modified Promise drivers or modify it yourself.

do you know how to mod the bios's themselves or the drivers? the one's crazyape has are too old, I need win2k3 support...

I tried them anyway and tried both winxp and the win2k drivers, but to no avail. I'm guesing its a simple mod for the change in the PCI bus ID.
