Im trying to update this Acer Aspire 1680 to some recent drivers, The problem is I cant find a post Catalyst driver for it. Is there anyway I can make it use the non mobile drivers from ati?
There is a program called MobileMod that can mod ATI's drivers to work with a laptop, but you'd be better served by simply DLing the Omega drivers and using them. The Omegas are already 'modded' to work with notebooks.
I usta use mobile mod with my my notebook but it would sometimes cause display corruption when I would take it out of hibernate. It was quite annoying. It would only do it on battery and I could ussually fix it by putting it back in hibernate and taking it out again. They CATS did help FPS rather than the manufacter's. I don't game much on my laptop so it was pretty useless. I switched back so I don't have to deal with the corruption. I'm not saying this will happen to you at all but I just thought I'd mention it.
