I have an iPhone 2G running 3.1.2. Is there any benefit to updating it to 3.1.3?

I also have an iPhone 3G running 4.1. Is there any benefit to updating that to 4.2.1?
 
There aren't any problems with 3.1.3, so no reason not to upgrade.

As for 4.2.1, I heard that 4.2 brings more speed to the 3G than 4.1 did.
