Updating BIOS

Is it really necessary to update the BIOS on my NF7-S? I have the same BIOS that I bought the board with back in Febuary. If so how do I update it?

I see you asked about new CPUs elsewhere. A BIOS update might broaden the motherboard's CPU support so you have more workable options. Looking at the NF7-S BIOS revisions since the start of this year, I see they've addressed other issues as well, some being SATA-related, so you might have several reasons to want to update. Here is Abit's BIOS-update page for the NF7-S revision 2 if you want to see their notes on the BIOSes.

You only need to update the BIOS if the update is required
for the new hardware/software that you wish to install.

If your system is running okay, there is no need to update the BIOS,
why look for trouble ???

Check the reason for the BIOS update at the mobo site,
if it doesn't affect you, then pass. Leave it alone.

Mech, I have been reading some of your replies, and quite frankly, I can see why you have Elite status, fantastic work and help on your behalf. 🙂
