I just put together a pc with parts that all used to work. When I boot everything spins that's supposed to spin but there are no beeps and nothing on the screen.

EDIT: I just replaced the cpu with another 1700+ and it works just fine. However, apparently the fsb was last set on the mobo to 166. Now the 2nd cpu boots at 1833MHz. Nice, but maybe that was why the 1st 1700+ I tried wouldn't boot. Maybe it can only do 133. If that were the case, would it have appeared dead as described above?

Final Edit: Set mobo to fsb 133 and it finally worked.

Try sticking the proc in another system. It could either be a dead mobo or a dead proc. As long as you have the PC Speaker hooked up correctly, you should get beeps if RAM or video card is faulty.

I've has that problem - in my case my reset button was stuck down! Try disconnecting the reset button from the motherboard and power it up again ...
