What the heck do u do about a person on your dorm floor who smells! One of the people on my floor drives everyone crazy as he stinks, he has this cloud of smell around him that extends 5 feet out in all directions. Once he walks through the hall it needs to be deoderized and febreezed...WTF DO WE DO!! Our RA has hinted him a few times to shower, but this boy needs more then that, how is there a polite way to tell him he stinks like a dead rat.

Prepare an anonymous package with soap, deodorant, and shampoo in it. And a note, that says "Pls wash your ass." Then give it to the receptionist at the desk at the dorm to put in his mailbox. Unless he's a total retard, he'll get the hint.

Put tons of air freshner things outside his door so whenever he walks in or out his door he smells clean. Or, maybe something that senses when he walks in or out and sprays perfume on him. An alternative would be to let George dub-ya Bush know about your problem, let him know it's a health hazard, he might actually read the subject line then.

Put a bag outside his room with perfumes, deodorant, soap, etc. That should be a good hint, beyond that, you can only try and get rid of him as a health hazard because you can say you throw up from time to time after smelling him

Maybe not polite but put "Caution" tape around his door and hang soap on a rope on his door handle. :p

There is a guy who lives a few houses down in my neighborhood, and is actually a friend of mine; for some reason he has yet to discover deoderant.

Constantly throw those little bars of soap you get in hotels at him.

Don't do stupid shiet like put deodorant or shampoo and soap outside is door.. that is RETARDED and MEAN. Just go up to him and say, "I don't mean to be rude or anything, and I mean this in the most polite way but you smell.. pretty bad dawg." Confront him and be polite...

Get a few of your friends together and give him a shower. Use 3M greenies and a stiff bristled brush. After being forcefully cleansed he will most likely take the job of future showers upon himself. Works in the military.

Yeah, but... this isn't the military. It's the real world. ;)

If someone did that, he would probably file charges.. and then sue. And win. :p

Oh I'm not saying you shouldn't ask nicely first but if all else fails.......
There is no reason the people in the dorm should be subject to his smell.

You could buy several containers of this stuff for your floor if you are unsucessful at getting the person to take a bath and clean up their act.

Try bleeb's suggestion first. Never know, it might work.

If it dosen't, issue Fabreeze bottles to everyone (or a majority) on the floor. Whenever one of those people sees him, they spray him several times. If he complains, explain in no uncertain terms why it's being done.

At a con I was at once we actually held down one such individual and emptied a quarter of a fabreeze bottle on him to make the point.

I'd get everyone else on the floor to sign something and go see the head of the Dorms. Make accusations that you can't study or concentrate, it's ruining the college experience, and that it's hurting your ability to perform at your best in your classes.

Otherwise spray a can of lysol under his door or something.

We had someone like that on my floor freshman year...we'd constantly leave bars of soap and shampoo on his bed. It took him a couple months of that and lots of "take a shower" comments for him to do it, but he finally got the message.

when i was living in dobie, there was this Indian guy (foreign exchange, not indian american) who was uber RANK.

i was friends with his roomate. HAHA. Im so evil. hahaa. well, anyway, my friend was Indian american. we tried all sorts of things, finally, my friend told him gently, and nicely (if you want to get american girls, you have to smell good) then he started showering 3 times a day! but no go, no deodorant!

yikes it was frusturating. eventually the year went by, and we all just kinda got used to it. i was thinking my friend should have bought him a fragrance kit for xmas, he never did, but maybe you guys can try that. don't make it too obvious though, thats rude. you know when you go to foleys and you buy a cologne, you get that free gift pack? well give that to Mr. Smelly.
