*UPDATED w/source code* You do realize that voting at pcstats.com is like voting for Nader, right?

This is the same site that we went to ~3 months ago to try to beat ars, hard, et al at voting. EXACT Same thing happened where people can vote multiple times. I hinted at your futility at actually voting in the moderator sponsored thread because I was hoping someone would remember this, of cource my hint wasn't really helpful, but I was too speechless at my shock of no one remembering the idiocy that went down.

So, I would now like to demonstrate something.
Votes = 840

The method of autovoting via a quick C++ can be set up in 3 minutes by anyone with some knowledge. I plan on informing the administrators there tonight about the problem, but I doubt anything will be fixed and they've already been notified.

No, don't ask me to write a prog to autovote for Anandtech.
Yes, I know by doing so I am a loser.
Yes, I plan on informing them (administration at the site) how many times I voted for that site and explain to them what an IP address is and that logging such things would be helpful.

I really wish this whole thing would die, sorry for the rant.

alright, it went from 840 votes about 5 minutes ago to 2273 at my last viewing. However, I'm only one person, if even 5 people set up a program like this the whole voting system goes down the drain. The point isn't speed, it's the mere concept of the thing

When I was looking for potential, uhm, guiney pigs, I decided on white dog because it's a pretty cool name.

Oh, and it's a single-threaded, one connection at a time prog, imagine if it could do multiple connections at once *shudder*

I dunno how tweakers only has 20k votes, I just did about 1500 votes in the what, 10 minutes now?

Cute? What about their "site focus" being tech cult? ;)

It is interesting how they move up a spot about every time I refresh...

7 and a half, actually ... heh ... yea ... I think you should let it run for an hour or two and just dominate the whole thing and point something out to the people who run it ...

and little white dog races to the head of the pack from behind -- it's a miracle folks, a miracle!

I set the prog to stop at 5000 votes, because I wanted to prove a point, not cause them to get in 1st place. Heck, 5840 should put them in some competition with Mad Onion (5850 votes) - 11th place.

If someone comes in this thread late, pm me and I can give you a personal demonstration ;)

[edit]hmm, strange, it randomly stopped now instead of at 5000...alright, I'll put it through the loop for another 2600[/edit]

Sorry, technical difficulties, had to reboot, but the prog is back up and running.

Apparently, having 10 windows open (supposed to be doing homework) takes up a lot of resources, resources you don't all get back after closing them.

[edit]that's enough, it's lagging my connection quite a bit and I want to get some CS in[/edit].

alright, I've proven my point. I hope people look at this thread, but I doubt it'll be kept on top like the other thread, so I have a feeling my hint will be lost in a sea of ignorance. I'm thinking of leaving the prog on overnight and taking over the lead, but for now it's lagging me a bit so I'm going to turn it off :)

actually somebody on this forum distributed a auto refresh thing a while ago today... i picked it up and i'm going to stress test one of my servers by having a bunch of friends using this program to bombard it with requests...

Alright, by popular demand, I will leave it running overnight. I am not to blame if it takes #1 place by the time I wake up (well, maybe partially to blame).

Badda-bump! Not all that surprising... most sites AREN'T that secure, but then again, there's hardly anyone who ever wants to do anything damaging, either :).

Most bad sites aren't secure, I just find it funny that we (they) all seem to care about where we rank on an obviously pitifully designed/operated site.

I for one have no friggin' idea how I'd start something like that. And I've completed a year of AP Computer Science.
