It hasn't worsened in the past 24 hours and I can deal with it til monday. If I see a doctor now it will be at a local hospital through the ER, if I wait til moday it will be with the clinic i am used to going to.

why bother asking if youre not going to go till monday anyways?

so let's play what happened when:

when i was peeing with pain and had blood in my urine, luckily the next day was a weekday and i could go to the school health clinic, and got diagnosed with a UTI. i got pills to take for a week, and felt instantly better the next day. believe me, if you don't get it checked, it will hurt EACH time you pee, causing you to stop the stream, but because you didn't finish peeing you just need to pee again twenty minutes again, causing the pain to continue.

my roommate my third year had a UTI, and it spread to her kidneys. she became sick all the time, was always tired, and was on constant meds. it sucked.

get it checked out if you can. look up a clinic nearby if you don't want to go to the ER.

Like everyone else, I think you owe yourself a trip to the ER. Or at least call your clinic's after-hours number; they'll probably have an on-call doctor call you back to discuss your situation.

If the doctor does call you, I hope you're a little more receptive to his/her advice than you have been to ours. You asked for our opinion and now dozens of people have told you the same thing. If you already made up your mind to wait until Monday, then why ask the question in the first place? If you really harbor some doubts, then it's time to go...

Good luck

Sounds like a bladder infection to me... yes goto the doctor. Maybe no the ER as this isn't an emergency as such, but definitely get there MOnday.

Irony with your name, but why do you ask this?

"Should I see the doctor? Blood is coming out of my ears and my guts are hanging out."

Blood in feces is one thing, but blood in urine should not be left at all.

This is so sad no one else has wished you well. Since you've been told to go now by everyone all I had to add was get well soon. Hope you didn't miss it up there with all the other nonsense i wrote.

I hadn't missed it, thank you.

You're welcome. Now if you have full covrage, what is stopping you from going to the ER? The sooner you go the sooner the problem is resolved. Why suffer more?

Sometimes I wonder why people even ask such dumb questions. With blood in your urine, the last thing you should be doing is posting on some forum board.

Will it kill you to wait till Monday? No.
Traces of blood & mucous indicate you have a urinary tract infection, not a life threatening problem unless you're in your 70's & in poor health...

Drink lots of fluids, take some Tylenol or aspirin & grit your teeth.

You'll need antibiotics to get rid of the bacterial infection, the risk is that it could spread to your kidneys (You could also experience loss of some of your kidney's function, not a good thing if you want to live till 80), slip through the filtering your kidneys do, get into your bloodstream & you'd get septic, spike a huge fever, fall down & your friends call 911 for you. Or your cat will just start to munch on soft, exposed body parts🙁

Where have you been puttin' your little buddy that he got infected?

If he doesn't want to go then fine. I just asked my wife, a nurse about what it could be and she said an infection of some sort or a stone. Either should be looked at as soon as possible. She said the sign of puss was not good and you need to get on some kind of meds to help control whatever the infection is.

If it gets to your kidneys then you are going to be stuck in the hospital with doctors shoving cotton swaps up your urethra. My wife said it is painful as hell and she has seen it done many times. A couple of hours now might save you a couple of days of real pain.

Like, and while you wait the typical 8 hours in the ER, bring a big jug of Cranberry Juice. It's good for your urinary tract 🙂

I have never waited more than a hour at the ER.
Come to California, San Jose, California. Break both bones in your fore-arm 3:00pm Saturday afternoon, walk into Santa Clara County Kaiser, wait 8 hours 😀

Hey well if you wait long enough maybe they'll have to cut it off.
I think that's motivation enough.

Why go through the expense? Give it a few weeks, it'll fall off by itself 😉

you should seek prompt medical attention -

delay in treatment can change (worsen or complicate) the outcome in the case of some of the things that can give you hematuria (blood in the urine)

go now..do not wait..trust me on this...

If he is feeling okay, I would tell him to wait. Do you know how much it costs to go to the ER???? It is not cheap. A doctor is a fraction of the cost. The doctor will tell him to go to the hospital, and if he has insurance, it should be covered.

Cost is not an issue. Full coverage with no premiums. I feel mild-moderate discomfort most the time, just while urinating do I feel immense pain.

*beats pot over head*

SO WTF ARE YOU WAITINF GFOR!?$?

Say hello to mr. swab up the "exit only" organ :Q

But anyways, lets see, I had same problem. It cost close to $2000, but I got fixed up in less than 8 hours at my local ER. I took a nap for 6 hours while they were mixing some drugs (100mg) of stuff to kill the infection. Instant results 15 minutes later.

It could be a STD like chlamadia, ghonerra (excuse the spelling), UTI, swift kick in the nuts/kidneys. If blood is exiting the body besides though your nose ... better get it checked.

By all means, wait longer. Make it more difficult and expensive to treat. You are paying CASH for your medical bills, right? Right? If not, I and everyone else who pays for insurance thanks you for your stupidity.

I said it in an earlier post that I have full coverage with no premiums to pay so no cost to me. And like the update said I feel more or less fine.

About a year ago my Dad started having pink-tinged urine every few days and every couple of weeks he would pass some reddish or brown mucous 'blobs', this was in late May, in late July he was diagnosed with bladder cancer, (radical cystectomy) was operated on in August, no indication of spread. He's 74 though.. This isn't to scare you, but generally blood (hematuria, either micro or gross) in your urine, especially when accompanied by mucosal discharge should ALWAYS be looked at as soon as discovered. The hospital was treating him in the meantime for a 'non-specific bladder infection', thankfully that delay in the operation didn't affect the outcome, but it could have. And yes, if they decide to look up little 'petey' they will grease up the outside with a deadening salve and offer a tranq to calm you down if anxious.

My Dad had very little pain when urinating and no indication of any pain anywhere in the torso whatsoever.

Another possibility: bladder stones. They can grow razor sharp edges and bounce around in the bladder and cut it to pieces.
