Imagine some evil scientists have taken Jessica Alba hostage. They want to turn her into a super zombie. You hear her cry for help, "SOMEBODY SAVE ME! THE ONE WHO DOES GETS POON FROM ME!" You have 48 hours to rescue her before she starts eating you out (hehehe). Everyone else is dead, so no help is on the way. All you have is a pair of jeans, a pair of converse, a black T, a kevlar vest, and a swiss army knife. All help is dead, and the city is under strict quarantine.

What single firearm will you choose? Be realistic here. No fanwanking allowed. As for ammo (if any), it will be scattered all over the city (from dead soldiers).

Personally, mine would probably be the P90. Strong, fast, and plenty of stopping power with the armor piercing rounds.
AK-47 with 100-round drum magazines. Big and fast rounds - can penetrate brick and concrete walls... one round is enough to rip a limb off (they aint gonna be chasing me with no legs) and a single headshot is enough to take the whole damn head off. The gun is pretty accurate to 300m or so, and not too unwieldy for close quarters.

Another option is the IMI Tavor. Very accurate to long range, small and its bullpup design is great for close quarters. The downside - uses wimpy 5.56NATO ammo, and only has a 30-round magazine.

since when does am AK round rip your head off?
The shockwave from the spall of an AK round will tear a huge hole at the exit. If a round is placed properly it'll certainly destroy the head... it's not going to totally blow it off, but will certainly pop the brain.

The spall of the 7.62x39 is almost non-existant, and unless its HP, it will not leave a huge hole at the exit. However, the wimpy 5.56NATO round can hit you in the stomach and exit through your shoulder thanks to spall. The good thing about the 7.62 is that you can shoot through bricks and still hit your target, you cant with the .223

Don't get me wrong, the 7.62 is a formidable round, but has limitations that can't be ignored. Lots of people diss the .223 as too small and weak, but try shooting it and you will change your mind. Hell, our army's been killing with it for 30 years now.

M249

Accurate from a distance, ridiculously large ammo belts for long firing bursts with no reload, crazy firing rate for up close zombi-mashing.

Has anyone actually specified just which type of zombie we're combating?

Type 1: The "Dawn (or Shaun) of the Dead" type. This type is quasi-intelligent (at least in the future) developing a form of communication, organization and emotion, but still slow with no agility. Downside is being very strong and difficult to defeat without a headshot/destroying the brain.

Type 2: The "28 Days Later" type. This kind which can do fast sprints, run and jump, etc... But only operates on rage and animal instincts. The BIG downside to this type is that if any of their blood penetrates into your system (open wounds, eyes, etc..), you're screwed and become one of them.

Personally, I think type 2 is the more dangerous. You have to take care not to cut yourself/dress your wounds well and wear eye protection, and even then it's no guarantee you won't become infected. Quasi-intelligent or not, a slow, lumbering enemy is easier to destroy than one that attacks you at full speed with adrenaline induced energy and blind ferocity.

I'd just like to have an M1 Abrams tank. No ammo needed. Just shut me inside and the zombies aren't getting in.

If I ever had to go to Isla Sorna, or The Lost World from Jurassic Park, then I'd like to have the tank with me there, too. No damn dino can even dent a tank.

I believe one of the bigger herbavores, an aptosaurus for an example at 30 tons could probably dent a tent if it stepped on one.

No way. M1A1 is 50+tons, and armored. The Apatosaur might be 30 tons, but is organic.

I suppose one could probably rock a tank if it wanted to, but couldn't hurt it. I'd be safe and sound inside.

No, if the tank doesn't get dented, then think physics. If your car didn't dent when you crash, then yo uwould be dead from teh shock.

Even if your SUV collides with my 5 series (let's say this simulates dinosaur vs tank), and you're the bigger guy, you will get damaged. If you want to say no denting at all, you will be thrown around pretty damn hard in that tank.

Where exactly would you be "thrown" when a dinosaur stepped on your tank?

The above is probably the most ridiculous question I've ever asked.
Nowhere. If a 30 ton dino steps on a 50 ton tank, the tank doesn't move. If the dino makes a concerted effort to move the tank, like trying to roll it over, that means the dino is trying to move something that weighs 20 more TONS than it does.
Not likely.
And you are totally safe from any predator in the tank...I wouldn't be too worried about the herbivores anyway.

I doubt the armor on the m1 can withstand a 30,000*9.88N force

With Jessica Alba you might consider using both hands :D

Maybe, but what game would let you carry only ONE weapon? That will get boring really quick. Any good FPS needs a knife/sword/club melee weapon, a pistol, a rifle/assault weapon, and some grenades or trip wire bombs. Oh, and some kind of Rocket Launcher/BFG type super weapon to kill the Boss character at the end.

I think that I'd want to use my Beretta CX4, assuming that I can get some large capacity clips and a large supply of .45 Auto hollow point ammo. That outta bust up some Zombie heads.

Meh, me and my friends planned this out. Guns need bullets, and bullets run out. Zombies will be slow moving things. A sword or a bat with a spike would be best.

I'm thinking just plain step on. No hitting or anything. You're rolling along and that dino just wants at those leaves behind you. It steps on your tank and I don't think the roof support for the cabin can support another 30 tons. I would think it would cave in, crushing you.

Bah........ you know how many bullets it will take to kill a zombie? I'd use a flame thrower :)

Cheers,

If the tank flipped upside down, would it collapse? I don't think so. So a big dino stepping on it wouldn't kill it, either. Those things are very heavily armored.
Plus, if there was any question, you could just move it out of the way.

Flak Canon FTW!

If it must be real I think I would take and AK and a very light sword type weapon for melee situations
