UPDATED: San Diego 3700+ OC Results & Weird memory...

Running equipment in my sig.

Initially, I was running at
250fsb 1:1 with memory with a cpu multi of 10.5 and a HTT multi of 4. I had memory timings of 2.5-3-3-6. and my cpu speed was around 2625mhz

I thought I was running my memory at 250mhz but many people told me that with a 10.5 cpus multi, that actually lowers your mem. speed down to the 230s. Most people told be to run with whole number multis... so I experimented.

If I lower the mem. divider to 2:3 I can run my memory at right around 200mhz with timings of 2-2-2-5 and a cpu speed around 2790... this is stable and gave me a boost of about 100 points over my original 13800 points in 3dmark 03.

Then, I upped the mem. divider to 5:6 and I could run my mem at 230mhz with timings of 2.5-3-3-6 and a cpu speed around 2800mhz.... this is stable and gave me a boost of almost another 100 points in the 3dmark 03... I'm now getting about 13990.

What I discovered, is even though my memory is rated at at 275 mhz, for some reason I don't have a stable system with memory timings above 233mhz (even with loose timings). I now know my chip isn't the limiting factor, as it can run all the way up to 2850 if the mem speed is lower than 230mhz.

So, is it the memory controller on the San Diego that has trouble with speeds above 230mhz for my mem? Is it the nforce4 ultra?? I can get into windows with speeds above 230mhz, but prime fails, I get internet browser problems like crazy, and occasionally I get the BSOD....

Has anyone else been experiencing this 230mhz cut off ?

switch to command 2t.

The asus nforce4 boards do not fair well at high 1t speeds with 1GB of mem...

Yeah, its either a limit of the SD's memory controller running 1T, or its something with the current bios that are available. Mine also tops out at around 230 1T regardless of what I do. If I drop to 2T I can get over 280mhz.

Your running 4 sticks? 1T or 2T? I'm also wondering if the SD doesn't like my TCCD memory. Is your memory TCCD?

All, I'm running 2 sticks at 1T. Yes, it's TCCD.

Can anyone second the asus boards have problems with 1t speeds with 1gb ram?
