I haven't had any real problems either... I screwed up once shipping a couple items... accidently got the addresses mixed up when I was getting rid of some engine parts... luckily both parties were understanding, sent the items back to me (at my expense) and I shipped them to the correct addresses.
I did have one annoying lady who wouldn't answer my e-mails about an Xbox game that I bought... I even got her contact info from eBay and called, and she never replied. She NEVER contacted me... the game just showed up in the mail one day, and she had put cash in the box with the game to refund the shipping cost. Not even a note saying "sorry it took so long, here's a shipping refund."

What pisses me off is people who never contact you about anything... either they never tell you they've paid and after a few days the funds just show up in my PayPal account... so I ship, but never hear back if they ever got it... never receive any feedback. Or I pay, they never aknowledge that they received payment or that they've shipped the item... it just shows up at my door some day.

Couple rules I have... anyone with feedback rating of 5 or below, or has a recent negative, if I can't get in touch with them before the auction ends, I either cancel their bid, or don't bid on it. I also never bid on an item that doesn't have an actual picture of the item listed for sale.

Did you pay for this as eCheck from your bank account or from your PayPal account balance? It's normal for eCheck to take a few days to clear, but if the latter where your money is already in his account and he's making you wait until the funds have been transferred to his bank account, you need to watch out. He might be trying to con you out, but is waiting until the funds have moved to bank account in order to prevent PayPal chargeback.

Ok forget my last mail. I don't want you to be another person to damage
my reputation on ebay. I was selling another item this weekend, and
described in my payment options that I do not accept credit cards. This
person bought the item and tried paying me with a credit card, I had to
deny the payment and as result she posted a negative feedback saying I
refused her payment. That really got to me. I contacted ebay to have
this fixed, people like that don't care they just post negative feedback
like it doesn't matter. So anyway I will send the item on moday but I
want you to give me positive feedback. You are right that I did not say
that in my description and I understand you. But believe me I realized
this problem the moment I saw the transfer will take about 3 days to
complete. Like I said I will send the item on monday. Please let me know

I paid with paypal funds not echeck. Hell i would'nt ship until an echeck cleared either.

Is the post office or Fedex next door?

WHen I sold an intake manifold last year on ebay I charged a $5. packing/handling charge and Double boxed the item,and charged the real USPS postal charges.

I might have made $1.00 after having bubble wrapped the thing.I had used "peanuts"
here but no bubble wrap.

If you are making money on the packaging even if its a dollar i think it is unsat. If its to much of a hassle for you to sell it and ship dont sell it in the first place or at least have since enough to figure it out before hand. Why should anyone pay for ou to go to the post office. If you are that broke sell you computer and lose the internet connection you obviusly cant afford it.

I personally think that a handling fee is BULL5H!T. If you cant package it up and send it then you shouldnt be selling it.

and yes i keep every box, piece of bubblewrap, airbags, and peanuts that is ever shipped to me and use them.

You can get boxes at the post office for free with express mail for most items anyway.

Some of you guys, not all but some are C-H-E-A-P A 5 pack of corrugated 12x12x12 boxes is less than 10 bucks at Staples.

Almost all charge a boxing/handling fee,
Jegs and Summit charge like an $8.00 fee per order,
I bought some stuff {Sheets} from Boscov's about a month ago,and got charged a
packing fee.

"Free" shipping does Not mean "free" all the time,
I found this out from Summit.

I do agree that way too many ebayers do not put a charge upfront on the auctions,
and have learned the hard way to Ask,how much for shipping/handling/insurance.

Glad I save the stryrofoam peanuts,LOL.

In over 500 eBay transactions, many of them BIN... this is the first I have heard that money is automatically taken from your paypal account. What if you wanted to pay by money order? I did not even know it was legal for PayPal to take money from your account automatically from an eBay auction. I thought you have to use the PAY NOW option.

Do you work for free? Next time I need to wrap something up and ship it off, can you come over and do this for me for free? You don't mind waiting at the UPS place for me right? It's only a 20 minutes wait on a Monday morning. Why are you attacking people for being cheap because staples sells new boxes 5 for $10 but you admit to reusing boxes and packing material? Why can't I reuse packing material?
BTW, Express mail starts at $14 (envelop) and this implies that you want sellers to deliver it the very next day. This isn't B&M. If you want your item right away, you should pick it up locally. Moot point also since he is using UPS ground which can take 5-7 days or 2 days depending on where he and you are at.

Yes, he was wrong to bill you $15 s/h when you used BIN and he refunded your money. But at least the guy was in contact with you. What if he didn't say anything and just waited until Wednesday to ship instead of Monday?

Lastly, I hate to mention this since you sound like such a reasonable buyer but this seller has a personal paypal account (hence the no cc). He has no protection against buyer remorse or compliants. He could have the pope rise for the dead and personally deliver the item to you on a silver platter with your signature signed in blood and if the buyer complains through paypal, paypal will take the money out of his account and return it to you. That is why he is transferring it to his bank account.
