I have a large, fairly old TV that doesn't have RCA connections in the back, just a cable. So I have a new VCR in which I run the cable through. That has 3 sets of RCA's. I put the PS2 RCA into the VCR, set the VCR to channel three, go to channel three and nothing happens. (Yes the VCR was on). I'm thinking I have to change the Inputs, but the remote won't allow me to. I've tried several different stations as well. Any ideas?

UPDATE: I got a universal remote, hooked everything up properly, and switched the setting to TV video. The VCR is set on 3, the TV was on three, and the PS2 still doesn't work. I tried putting it on another channel, still doesn't work. Any ideas?

Channel * ignores the RCA inputs. RCA inputs do not transmit channel information, only RF ('Cable') inputs do. The VCR needs to be set to whichever input you're using. Try changing to a channel below channel 2.

Failing that...
