Has anyone bought from Mwave.com? They seem to have the only good reseller reatings of the stores selling the nec 8x drive. Also wondering why no major resellers are jumping on this to be the first to sell both format drives not just the +r
Seems like a great deal. Not much info on google on this drive either that I could find??? Anyone else have any luck
Can't even find anything on NEC's site on this drive

THX for the post Mystic Nan I. I've been playing with the Plector for a few months now... it's a great burner. Any word on media compatibility/firmware updates with the NEC?

How is NEC ND-2300 compare to TDK IndiDVD AID+840/Plextor PX-708A ? (aside from NEC can burn 8X DVD-R)
Buffer size the same ?

bought thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from them, great company, a lil overpriced at times though. But, with returns theyre great. recommended them to all my friends and if/when they had a problem it was resolved quickly and efficiently

I'm getting the Plextor PX-708A for christmas. What are the chances that it'll be able to do 8X -R with a firmware update?

I'd hate to think i bought too soon.

Yeah, this kinda sucks. Bought the 708A for someone for Xmas at around $200 a week ago. If it wasn't for Neweggs restocking fee I would have returned it! Oh well, I just keep telling myself that the 708A is the superior drive.

450$ here in cash for my a 6x4x2 yamaha (CDRW4260) back in '98. It was that or the Plextor but Plextor's didn't have rewrite capabilities back then. Ack, you brought back repressed memories! :(

that baby lasted me for 4 years...

~$260 for my factory-refurb Yamaha 6416S, and guess what? It's still burning to this day, in a friend's computer. :) Assuming that you didn't get a defective one, those Yammy's would last for a while.
