The NV40 was the first to feature the "programmable video processor". Implementation is a thread all in its own, so not to pull the thread off-topic the main point is that certain video decoding is extremely CPU intensive no mater what kind of card or rig you might have. I'm not even sure if it applies to video decoding or not to be honest, but I thought the dual core support aspect was interesting.

Since its my thread I can change the subject? No? Actually I am just kidding. I understand.

So, I guess, since my 6800 NU core is based on the 6800GT/Ultra, my core has the messed up video feature?

Also, I will have a updated version of the application I made with alot more features and I am hoping to have the graphing feature ready for it real soon too.

If anyone wants to see a specific feature or something, Feel free send me a pm or post. Thats if anyone really cares

Yes, the NV40 version has the least amount of Purevideo feature support.

I am debating on whether I should check out the latest leaked beta drivers to check for the dual core usage and see if anything is improved? Anyone heard anything specific with these in terms of changes/improvements? Maybe they are using the 2nd cpu more in these drivers and maybe some general performance tweaks? It might be worth checking out? I may have time Sat or so.

They were too buggy for me, but I ran DOD-S in a window with task manager,

CPU usage w/ 80.xx was closer to 70%, with 78.xx it is never above 50%.

Unfortunately they were too buggy for me to play, others have had better luck

Not to rain on your parade or anything, but I still do not understand what your benchmarking utility does that isn't already sufficiently covered by Performance Monitor...

I made it for various reason's I suppose. And its no parade that I am on. Its not a big deal to me or anything. Just something I mess with in my spare time. So don't worry about making it rain :)

I am able to have specific features that I want. The PMonitor is limited in some ways. What I mention below is from MY standpoint and MY opinion. You or someone else may think they are worthless reasons or what-not.

Anyways, for me at least, I only want to log when the cpu's are actually active. I also want special logging only if the cpu usages are above 50% for both cores and so on. I can also be more specific with the update time and keep track of how many cycles the app has went through and the time in between each cycle.

I can keep track of the total average loads and keep track of the average load above 50% and also what the highest load above 50% is. I do not have to scroll through alot of data or a big log or anything. Its right there with no effert. (Just to let you know in case you don't, above 50% means that both cores are being used in some way or another. And thats important to me to keep track of.) Plus there is more but I don't feel like going through it.

I do have more features I will eventually add that I might mention later but I may not since PMonitor does it all for most and I would be wasting my time typing :p I did it for me anyways and was hoping to possibly Help others. And as you can see, PMontior doesn't do near the features that I have added and continue to add for me. I also have NO desire to insist that people use my program or anything. I only offered in case someone wanted too. As I said, it was for me only and was just keeping others in mind :)

Anyways, hopefully some of this info helps you to see why I did what I did. Sorry if I didn't :)
