The premium version of this software gives you two things that AV doesn't do. First, maleware and viruses aren't exactly the same. An AV likely won't stop a maleware program, and a maleware program likely wont stop a virus. The different between the two is worth a google search. I don't need to post a wall of text here.

Second, this program will block background internet connections that some websites use that connect to what appear to be maleware sites. This could be things like a website that is known to harvest usage data off computers tries to access a cookie on your system. That isn't virus activity, as it is part of normal internet usage. But Malwarebytes would identify the site being contacted as a Malware site and block the data from being sent.

Every now and then legitimate sites can get some of this activity on them, and not on purpose. Bad code can get in their site, or banner ads can get some bad code. My opinion would be that its worth running the free version of this, and 12$ for a lifetime would serve you well.

Thanks, ya i have never really run anything and been lucky. I think i will grab this and try it out for the price. Would this and AVG work ok together or is there something better to run with this?

This program runs very well along side AV programs. I personally run this and Vipre Anti-Virus, both in active protection modes. Because this doesn't act or scan like a anti-virus program, it should play nice with any anti-virus out there.

Great prog, but I don't think Real Time Shield is unnecessary.

No amount of real-time protection can save you from bad surfing habits.

I have Avast real-time running, and scan it on monthly basis along with Malwarebytes = clean PC at all times.

Personally, pocket that $12.

Does anybody know if this Anti-Maleware is compatible with my teenage daughter's operating system?

Sorry, couldn't resist... :sneaky:
