You can also pick up the red version with a black interior for $270 shipped: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811112309

UPDATE 7/19/2011:

There's a coupon code now available! Enter lianlijuly at checkout to save an additional 15%. Shipping is no longer free, but it's still cheap ($3.99 for UPS Ground).

That brings the total to approximately $187, which is an all-time low for this case, I believe.

I contacted Newegg (since I placed my order two days before this coupon code became available) and they credited the amount back to me. 😀

That is one sexy case...

Lian Li is one of the best, I have one of their lower-end models. The style is simple, but very high quality and they thought of just about everything.

Yep!

I do have to say though, if you're looking for the most bang for your buck in terms of cooling capacity, cable management, etc., this is NOT it.

If you're looking for something whose styling could make it the center piece of a living room, on the other hand, this isn't a bad choice. 😉 I'm personally grabbing it due to the USB 3.0 ports (though they're only pass-through cables; get an adapter here or here) and for the removable motherboard tray, which seem to be dying out. Combine that with 3x140mm and 1x120mm fans, and it makes for a pretty sexy all-arounder.

I'm personally toying with the idea of replacing the three 5.25" bays with a 120mm fan and 3x 3.5" hard drive enclosure, then removing the bottom hard drive cage completely so there's room for a pump and reservoir and / or radiator... 😱

I think pc 9f is a nicer case and less expensive.

It's definitely nice, and definitely cheaper, but I don't think I'd call it nicer. It all comes down to design for me. I just can't go back to having a boxy case after falling in love with the TJ-07 (and subsequently, the FT01/FT02). Looks are subjective, though. 🙂

I envy you guys who can purchase this level of case but I have to wonder how much better is it over the $50.00 ones from thermaltake. Once its built and in the case and keeps it cool what more is there? Who am I kidding if I had the money I would buy it too.

Computer cases are sort of my downfall. I really enjoy seeing how everything pieces together (especially when you get to do something really special like custom sleeving on all cables or a nice liquid cooling setup), and I love tinkering with different setups and features. For example, this will be my first case that has a removable motherboard tray that also removes the rear panel. My NZXT Rogue has a removable tray, but the rear 120mm fan area stays attached, so I can't remove the tray if there's a non-low-profile CPU heatsink.

In terms of cooling and functionality, high-end computer cases aren't that much "better" than your average $50-100 case. However, higher end cases usually include several "niceties" that set them apart from the low end. Things like tool-less drive mounting, rubberized dampening, cable management options, etc. Low to mid tier cases are catching up fast, though. The biggest thing that sets these $150+ monsters ahead of the pack is their materials and build quality. Once you start using a case that's made out of all metal (preferably aluminum) with a nice finish and great overall construction, it's really tough to go back to a lump of steel and plastic. Even the spare Antec 900 that I have kicking around at work just feels cheap to me these days, but it's still a helluva case.

So, in short, what you're really paying for here is something that's going to look and feel nicer, and hopefully stand the test of time better (though, if you're a case junkie like me, it'll last ~3 years tops). If all you want is something that's going to hold your components and keep things cool, and looks / weight / materials / assembly quality don't matter as much to you, then there are much cheaper solutions from Cooler Master, Antec, Thermaltake, etc.

I have an old anteccase i like (pre p 180) 'cept it is steel. I really prefer lighter cases. The 50 dollar aluminum case i got from bestbuy is probably the best full tower i have. I have an old kingwin case but probably not good for modern system. The pc 9f @120 is my most expensive case.

I've not seen too many good cheap cases.

If that $50 aluminum case from Best Buy is that huge Rocketfish case from several years ago, that was one heck of a steal. And, from what I've heard, it was just a re-badged / slightly different version of one of Lian Li's large full towers.

The ABS Black Pearl that went on sale a while ago (again, rebadged Lian Li case) was a great deal too. That was more like $120 IIRC, though.

Yea that was the bestbuy case. I purchased it to replace the antec case. Took me a bit to rebuild. The only thik it lacks from newer cases is the lifted mb to run wires beneath. Also unlike the kingwin the mb is not removeable. Kingwin case was also a steal for mid tower. Only thing is after 7 or 8 years designs have improved.

damn, i want this. I have a coolermaster atcs aluminum and one of my side panels got bent so now its permanently open 🙁. I think this case is actually better looking but there is no where i can find new panels as this case is several years old.
