Some of you may know I'm pissed with my boss, not the boss of the company but just the VP i report to. Here's a little trail:
POST
So, today, in response to a work request...here was my reply:

ABC,

I'm afraid I cannot make it at that time. I will only have my car around 9:30am so the earliest I can make it is around 10:15++ am.

With all due respect I feel that some consideration needs to be given towards my time, needs and rights. I understand that your take on some issues and tasks may be fastidious, but that does not necessarily negate or make everything or everyone else(s) secondary. This may or may not be intentional on your end but it comes across that way.

We can speak about these sometime later today as they surely need to be addressed for the benefit of both of us.

Sincerely,

abc.

Update:

He read the email late last evening and he called me kinda pissed off..talked a bit, basically justifying himseld, then talked about how he DOES put my needs into consideration...blah-blah, ended with we need to talk mano-mano, not by email/phone.

so we met at the datacenter today..at my suggested time...both of us seemed to be in a good mood. Smiled, laughed, talked...worked a bit...never mentioned anything about the email. He said he's going back office, i said i'm going home..see him friday since i'm off tomorrow and he's off thursday. Again zero mention of email.

wow

um

you come off as a bastard, but since I dont know the whole story your VP probably deserves it!

:thumbsup::beer:

*edit

basically I'd fire your a$$ too!! 😀

Yup!

Maybe not a firing but I don't think you're warming the cockles of his heart.

Scott Adams (dilbert) says "if you want to really help your good workers in your company, get rid of the a$$holes!"

He's prolly one that needs to go.

BTW, I'd use the word "abrogate" instead of negate, it's more forceful and it's unlikely that he knows it.

No worries. It's an employer's market. There are plenty of eager beavers ready to replace you.

Doing that over email is lame. Talk to the guy face to face. Less room for misinterpretation that way.

If you do get fired, you should do something wacky, a la office space (maybe disassemble your cubicle or something?) 😀

Or pull a page from Milton's book and keep coming to work and hope for that glitch in accounting 😀

Or steal milton's red stapler and hope he burns the office down! 😀

wow really?...i was trying to be nice and cordial and professional. was i being a dick?...

You still haven't answered what it was that sparked thsi email in the first place.

Thats all we really care about

Are they asking you to come in on your day off or something? If not, why the casual regard for start time, 10:15++ seems a tad on the late side?

I certainly wouldn't talk to my boss that way.
