yeah, yeah... stupid city slicker... blah blah blah.

i don't have a gun to shoot it. i'm not going to kill it with a shovel.

those bastards are scary...

i covered a banana in rat poison and threw it in the box with it... will that do the trick?

update: didn't kill it. it wouldn't eat the banana and i wasn't about to physically kill it. so, we taped the box shut and opened it up near a dumpster near my roommate's boyfriend's work.

Sounds like you already have it caught.

If it eats the rat poison, yes it will probably die, though you'd probably do it more of a favor just bashing it with a shovel. The death from poison might take some considerable time.

If you had it contained already and hadn't exposed it to poison, I would've suggested relocating to a distant location from your home.

the possums are trapped in two boxes in a big box... my roommate got them and she was going to call some people to come take them or whatever. she wanted me to kill them instead.

it's raining outside. i don't have a trap. i'm not about to go buy one.

would the rat poison-coated bananas do the job?

personally, I'd go to walmart get a .22, let them go, then have target practice. Otherwise, just call animal control, it's not worth the effort if you're just going to drown them.

Yeah, Why kill them?

Drive somewhere and set them free. They're harmless critters.

According to your profile, you are in Missouri. I would put money on at least one of your neighbors having access to a .22. That is my usual method of choice.

i'm in the suburbs of st. louis. someone might have a gun, but i need them dead before my roommate's daughter gets home so she doesn't see them dead.

If you must kill them... Do it quickly and don't make it suffer. Poison seems like it might be cruel if you don't give it enough.

Shooting it is probably your best bet. Or calling Animal Control as some have suggested.

It should be against the law to live in MO and not own a .22

Why do you have them in the first place and why do you need to kill them? Just take them somewhere out of the city and let them go. They don't hurt anyone.

Totally different animal ... same name. That said, I'm not sure if they are territorial :p Had experiences with the Australian ones while backpacking for a year down under, and had to kick a few of them off my food bag one night :)

If your roommate wanted you to kill your parents, would you do that to?
Just let them go. Just because something isn't human doesn't mean it should die if inconviences one.
