why do you have a need to kill possums?

Yeah, Why kill them?

Drive somewhere and set them free. They're harmless critters.

If they are in the yard set them free. WTF are you so worried about. Or pickup the phone and call animal control. You dont even need to leave the house! IMAGINE THAT!

Just take then out to the woods and let them go. Or call your local Humane Society to have a wildlife person come get them. No need to kill them. Why would you want to do that?

Why did you catch it in the first place? It would have just wandered away on its own.

.22??? pftt

7mm remington mag, blow that thing in half!!!!

According to your profile, you are in Missouri. I would put money on at least one of your neighbors having access to a .22. That is my usual method of choice.

the dude is in the city

Where there are possum, there are far fewer rats.
The city of Long Beach, CA. will no longer give out traps for thier capture.
Skunks...yes.. but not for the fugly possum.

animal control wouldn't come out because it's a "rodent problem."

we ended up just taping the box shut and opening the box next to a dumpster. it wouldn't eat the rat poisoned banana.

They're harmless, just take it somewhere else and let it go if you dont want it around.

they built a home in the box in the garage. it had leaves and sticks for a bed and a potty area and whatnot.
