**UPDATED...got the PS2** Just bought a PS1...should i take it back and save for PS2?

My brother just bought a Playstation 1. It's ok...seems kinda slow. We only have a couple games (007...world is not enough, Hooters Road trip, Spec Ops, Duke Nukem, and a football one). He paid $30 for a new PS, not sure if it's worth it being so slow and all.

Update: We just got a ps2 yesterday. Current games: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, The Simpsons: Road Rage, State of Emergency, and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2

There are a truckload of quality games for the PS1 (Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil series, Gran Turismo 2, etc.)

But if you're turned off by the graphical quality of PS1 games, then by all means, save up for a PS2.

All jokes aside, get PS2. You can still play all the great PSX games you have. Plus GTA:Vice City is something you can't really miss.

Where did you hear that? We've got a crummy ps1 ourselves and GTA vice city tempts me. :/

Only $30? Keep it, you'll spend more than that in gas going back to the store. Wait for the PS2 to drop in price, then you could always sell the PS1 on Ebay, someone is sure to buy it there for well over $30.00.

PS2 is backwards compatible and will play PS1 games.

That would have been a better investment than a PS1. DC still rocks.

However, if there are games for the PS series that you want to play, then go for the PS2 if money isn't an issue.

the simpsons game and the state of emergency are stupid. I highly suggest *AGAINST* buying these two titles. Maybe we can return them for another good game.
