A family member is coming to visit so I'm thinking of taking a day off work

We're thinking about either Six Flags America in Maryland (45 minute drive from NoVA)
or a dock/shore in Maryland?
I have no clue
Any good places to visit in this weather?

update
We ended up driving to Baltimore and going to the national aquarium

It was pretty cool, but pricy at around $25/person which includes the dolphin show

Then we went to Lexington market so I can eat some fresh oysters with hot sauce

You can take them to the Spy Museum or to the IMAX theatre at the Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly. There are also the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.

Chinatown bus FTW. Close your eyes and pray and it'll be a good trip. :p

The weather's been pretty lousy the past week or so, so if you decide on an outdoor place, you'd better hope it isn't rainy or freezing cold.

Didn't they just move the Newseum from Arlington into a new place in DC?
