Wow. Worked in Lawrence, KS, earlier this week. Tried it in KC today and was told that I had to pay for the installation, but would get the memory for free. I stayed persistent, and was told several different stories by several different people, and was eventually told to leave the store. I asked why? I hadn't been rude, loud, profane, or anything else, and was just told to leave. I asked for the name and number of the district manager, and was given a 1-800 number. I called it right there in line, and it was disconnected. Then, finally, the sales manager came over and told me that he wasn't going to do it, and that is why we have a court system. Then he said "Look. I'm not a bullsh*tter. This isn't gonna happen." I kept calm, and said to him, "Well, not that I don't believe you about that, but I have a coupon that clearly says one thing, and you're telling me it's no good. Sounds like bullsh*t to me." So I walked out after about 30 minutes of back and forth for no good.
It would be one thing if this coupon said ANYTHING AT ALL about the limitations, but he was making them up on the spot. "Doesn't apply to sale memory. Doesn't apply to memory under $90, etc." I thought it was pretty clear that it applied to ANY memory. Oh well. They won't miss me. I only go there to do crap like this anyway. I suppose I'm a demon customer, but it's better than being one of their *good* customers, that bends over and takes the warranty from behind like a good boy.
