Yeah, Carlos drove his butt off under heavy pressure. All Perez had to do was wait for a mistake, but, he was the one to make a mistake. Max and Sainz looked like they had been through the ringer after that race, Leclerc looked much fresher.Sainz was great defending from Checo with the fresh tires at the restart. Glad he finally finished a race too, heh.

Well, between his physio and two trigger point injections of a corticosteroid and he'll be good to go. As someone with recurring back problems, I do feel for him right now.wonder if old man Lewis will be able to drive next week. His back looked shot. I'm surprised the teams have pretty much decided to accept the bouncing this far into the season, as long as the performance is still there. This situation is wrecking the drivers.
Those nice Ferrari power units seem to be...unreliable across the field. Not good for those teams.

Yeah, they keep tripping over their own feet this year. It’s sad and bizarre to watch.McLaren blew their double-stack. Slow on the first car and unprepared for the second one.
I swear F1 should take a lesson from Indycar and switch to a push-to-pass system. Probably be way less complex and more entertaining.Formula 1 CANADIA GRAND PRIX Final Race Results:

Overall, a good race. I like the Circuit, but too many DRS trains. Great race between Verstappen and Sainz in the final laps. As an RB fan, bummed that Perez's engine augured in. As an F1 fan, nice to see Mercedes being competitive!
Ive thought about that too, but I don’t think it would work with F1s strict fuel limit. I just don’t know what F1 can do without wrecking other fun aspects of the whole system. Putting an even tighter cost cap in place would even things out, but then much of the cutting edge engineering would go out the window, and so forth.I swear F1 should take a lesson from Indycar and switch to a push-to-pass system. Probably be way less complex and more entertaining.

Hi _Rick_! I hated the idea at first - but it sure makes for a fun weekend!A Sprint in Austria is going to be interesting, with overtaking being very possible around there, but the potential to get it wrong just as bad.
I'm excited already!

That was a LONG way to go on medium tires. Too far. I think they should have brought him sooner, with 15 laps to go, and put soft tires on. The told him to go as fast as he fucking can.Can someone explain to me wtf Ferrari were thinking today? I mean...Sainz was pretty much going to get a podium, maybe 2nd even, with the potential of blowing out and getting nothing, of course...but they opted to play it safe and get a possible maximum of like, 3 points from him today?
The fuck is wrong with their brains? And bothering him while he was passing Perez? lolwtf is going on with that team. Part of me understands that they would have risked more if LeClerk were still in the race at that point, but seriously: the fuck is the difference from getting no more than 3 points or zero points if they actually had some balls and let him stay in and finish on those old tires?
Dude was smoking the field. The new power unit was goddamn impressive yesterday in qualifying and in race...I guess they don't trust themselves because of all the failures they have had this year....but what a bunch of dumbfuckery. Austria was a great weekend, this one was obnoxious, lol.
I guess Merc should be happy, but still, they really only beat Perez today. They needed LeClerk to drive into a wall and Ferrari generally decide not to win for some reason, to get the result that they did.
That was rough to watch and hear. From Sainz's messages he seems very aware of the overall race situation, and then the race engineers hit him up at all the wrong times for seemingly nonsensical messages or strategies. That was a LONG way to go on medium tires. Too far. I think they should have brought him sooner, with 15 laps to go, and put soft tires on. The told him to go as fast as he fucking can.
Trying to talk to a driver while he is passing was incredible, we’re they not watching the race? Well of course they were not judging by the calls they made.
