Though this isn't a problem for myself, is there any chance we get a self-installer back again for win9x? I have people that I talk to over the 'net and have to walk them through it....and its a lot easier with the installer than to have to check to see if they have decompression utilities (they all invariably do, but not all of them know how to use it 😛). A self extracting .exe would be much appreciated, and I'd like to use the newest client if possible, as technically we're not supposed to create our own self-extracting files for distribution....right?

no new gui will come out anytime soon. we are working on a detached gui program, but we have no plans to release that anytime soon or any idea exactly how long that will take to finish.

I went back to the installer, only one I had left when i decedid to remove 8010 from my system, damn thing wont shut down when I shutdown Win2K, never had that problem with other clients, Anyone still has the 8009 version for me ? 😱

i have dnetc v2.8010-462-CTR-00070113 for Win32 (Windows 4.10). I have the same problem, if its running, i can't shut down (system hangs). Otherwise, if I manually shut down the client, everything is fine...another reason why i don't use this client on more than this machine....
 
BK, I was using the same rev as you and didn't have the problem. As of last night, I upgraded to the next rev, dnetc v2.8010-463-CTR-00071214 for Win32 (WindowsNT 5.0) and I still don't have any problem shutting down.

Do you use remote buffers or anything that may be having trouble closing a network connection?
 
If you look at the changes.txt file you will see that the shutdown problem was a bug fixed in v2.8010.463 that was just released.
