Every 1700 OEM I have bought from newegg has been an AIRGA [TbedA]. The 'refurbs' are probably the returns.

Most of mine maxed out around 1750 [10.5x166] with decent air-cooling and sane voltages. Though, the last one, a week 0319 (They still made AIRGAs that late!?!) barely does 1700 [8RDA+, 1.75V].

Don't buy the Newegg 1700s if you want to overclock [much]. Handpick a 2500+ [AQXEA is good] and if you get 2300+ mhz out of it, it'll prolly be the last Socket A CPU you buy. [Then... socket 754? 775? 940?]

$35 at the beginning of the year. Got a "B" which does only 2024 @ 1.85 VCore.
$30 since April. At 1.85 Vcore got 3 "A" chips. One does 1800, the other two 1926. Got another "B" and again it only does 2024.

You are likely to get an "A", or a "B" which doesn't clock too high. One of those "B" chips does 1.1 GHz at 1.1 VCore Prime95 stable with all of the fans off (great for listening to music). Still, $30 for 1926 MHz more or less is a steal.

Received mine today.

AXDA1700DUT3C
JIUHB 0312XPMW

Have not tested it yet. The only evidence that it is used is some white heatsink grease on two of the mounting pads.

that should give you a good 2200 mhz

anyway, it looks like the 1800+ are the hot chip at newegg

Further back up this thread. I said I decided to get the 1800+ retail pkg refurb for $42 ..I rec'd my newegg order. you said anyway, it looks like the 1800+ are the hot chip at newegg(I'm not knockin' your statement just newegg's attention to order details with the following)bullshizz is when you order the item described (1800+ TBred Retail..even listed on newegg's invoice as such a refurb item)and not receive all the described pieces and/or even the described item ..got shorted the HSF and staring at a 2000DMT3C-XP AGOIA Palamino(definitely been run and looks a lil scorched 🙁) week 11 of 2002 I am going to test this tho..🙂 not dead & boots up fine as a stock 2000+ Palamino .. died on the 2nd day..error'd out ..then refused to boot..tried in another mobo..no boot..dead 🙁 ..RMA is going fine tho..

Been running my "refurb" 1700 off and on for the past couple of days and it seems ok. Have not tried to OC or stress test yet.

Sorry for being dumb, but how much of an overclock are you looking at if you get the B version rather than the A?

It's roughly a 4-500MHz difference, though that spread can be quite off for the purposes of this thread, since many of these refurbs were returned because they don't o'c well.
