who the hell doesn't pump their own gas?

People who live in NJ. Not sure if all of NJ is the same, but every gas station I went to there (near cherry hill) was full serve only.

That's correct all of NJ.

There's a law against pumping your own gas in NJ... I think the same applies in NY, or at least NYC. It's because we're so damn litigious...
I figure, you pay for the gas, why do you have to pump it yourself? It's like going to the deli and having to slice your own meat.

Anywho, I'm also sick that 93 octane gas is up to $1.69 in my area (from 1.53)... don't even wanna talk about 94. Then again, compared to others, I don't have much to complain about.

I'm in eastern PA, and it's getting up to that price for regular; think that's 87 octane? Of course, with a full-time job, I still only spend like $12 a week on gas; 32mi driving a day. Recessions do that I guess.

It's still cheap, compared to the rest of the world.
We are lucky here. 😉

Yes, all this complaining makes me grin. The price here in Finland is around 1.15 euro/l (down from 1.20 last weekend) , I think that about 4.5 $/gallon.

I paid $1.81 today (for regular -Super was $2.09)because I refuse to buy the cheap Arco gas that ruined a friend's car. It's cheap (~$1.72 ish), but you may as well be putting sugar in your gas tank. :frown:

so what's the fuss all about? - I am paying $4.22/gal.

btw gas prices 3 months apart - do u really expect them to stay the same in 3 fvcking months?? Man they change like at least on a weekly basis here shot up ~15cent in the last 3 mo.

Geez, you'd figure a Lifer could remember to look at a user's profile:

Darmstadt, Germany

Well it looks like it's too late.

There's a gas station downtown which is already over $2/gallon for regular unleaded 🙁

3/9/2003 UPDATE: We just filled up our Accord and regular is now up to $1.86, cost $26.04 to fill up the car 🙁

damn. I dread this summer when I have to fill up my boats 75 gallon tank. .... and gas is usually 30-50 cents higher than at land gas stations.

How much does it normally cost to fill up your boat?

Assuming $2/ga + $0.50 surcharge = $2.50/mo x 75 = $187.50

😱

Right now, I'm renting an xterra... it uses 87 octane gas, which is normally 1.62 here in MA..

For my maxima, nothing but 93 octane.... the most I've paid is 1.92 per gallon....

Soon enough, I'll be rocking the bike, if these prices go any higher!

Can't help but laugh a bit at these gas prices threads. The US has some of the cheapest gas prices out there. Look at Canada or Europe. Then complain.

Complaining, whining and bitching ... it's the American way!

Wow, it dispells a major myth since you pay the same price for gas as the rest of us. 🙂

The price of gas is nowhere near what bottled water's is.

I can get bottled water for what..under $1/gallon..
