How come Apple stocks didn't rocket like they would of after all these new product announcements?

What's up you guys? Basically I'm asking for stock advice. I know that any advice is to be taken at own risk, but for school we have this stock market game. So it's basically fake money in the real stock market. So any advice, real advice, would be helpful.

I'm a pretty conservative investor. I am a big fan of PRF.

PowerShares FTSE RAFI US 1000

The fundamental weighted index of the top 1000 US companies. It's based on fundamentals (earnings, book value, profit) more than just pure market cap like other indexes, which means .coms are a smaller percentage of the fund.

UITW & JUPM for short gains.

You could gamble on Rambus too. (RMBS). For a safe recovery, I like Costco (COST).

Sandisk is a better choice if you want to go memory/semis.

let the duke's trader buy up all the futures contracts on frozen concentrated orange juice. that will send the price skyrocketing as other people get in on the supposed knowledge they are using to corner the market. when the price gets to about $140 per contract, start selling april contracts at $142. this should send the price down as demand rapidly begins to drop. once the crop report for the new year is read and everyone realizes that there is an abundance of f.c.o.j. wait till everyone is desperate to drop their contracts and then start buying them back. make sure not to buy from the duke's trader.

by the end of the trading day contracts will probably cost about $29 and you will have amassed over $360million.

ps - a margin call, a rule for most exchanges, will probably bankrupt the dukes.

pps - you may owe your business partner $1

I'm guessing you can't use leverage, but that doesn't necessarily rule out leveraged funds and ETFs.
Since it's such a short time and fake money, perhaps look at speculating on stocks between $2-10.

If you can buy penny stocks DO! You can buy them at 3 cents and they usually go up to 6 at some point in the week, but never really below 3. I did this in every stock market game in school, I NEVER came close to losing, too bad it can't work in real life.

How come it doesnt work in real life and in game? Doesn't the game give you the same quote from the market?
