Fuck it, I'm going regardless. I don't care if I have to charge it every day at work and every time I'm in my car.

Will it charge through the Sync USB in my car? I don't see why not. Hope so.

These still use ESN numbers right? I vaguely remember LTE (even VZW's) were going to use SIM cards...

Early reports are that LTE is pulverizing the battery. And without a toggle to turn it off it'd be wise to keep chargers handy. Hoping that VZW can still bump up my upgrade so i can find out for myself but a part of me thinks that missing out on being an early adopter may not be the worst thing at the moment.

yea really want to see bat numbers, im not planning on getting one i just want to know

My phone had 30% battery when first turned on and survived for 4 hours through 8 restarts (my first SIM they used was bad), 20 app installs, contact and information syncing, and 30 minutes of Pandora radio.

I don't think its too bad but I'm coming from a Touch Pro. In its overclocked hacked state I needed 3 batteries to get through the day so almost anything is an improvement to me.

LTE does use a SIM card and when you get the phone they assign a SIM card to your account and place it in the phone for you to be activated with the phone.

Anybody have case recommendations? How many/what variety of chargers/USB cables come packaged with the phone?

I got the Verizon silicone case + Holster (and screen covers)

Only comes with a 1 Amp AC charger and micro USB cable. No vehicle charger or anything like that.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. The two lower download tests was in the data center. Wifi has been checked and it is off and the LTE icon is lit. If I'm missing something, let me know and I will redo the tests. Had to use my Xoom to take the pics so they are not the greatest.

Sorry for making it seem like that. I am suspect of those numbers because out of the ~1100 tests I have done (both to speedtest, iperf servers and http servers) I have never seen anything greater than ~8Mbps on the uplink. And I know for a fact I am in excellent RF conditions with a good SiNR and CQI.

Your down seems about right. I would blame the app more than anything.
Also, the large disparity between your 8/27 and 9/27 tests

Hmm.. I tried Speakeasy.net and the download is still around 30Mbps but the up is now around 10Mbps.

holy shit.

Went ahead and picked up a TB today. Sweetness. Also from my inside source, the devs a very close to a perm root solution.

Hey, so, there's a non-zero chance that I'm retarded. Every time I send a text from my TB (and my mom and sister) it shows up as from some strange number (1311480000074005). Um, why? And how do I fix it?

edit: Nevermind, bug...apparently pulling the battery fixes it.

Is it MMSing or something?

Aliens.

Getting 6.95 Mpbs down, 16.08 Mpbs up in Detroit.

Also, I was talking to the chick and she said they had 30 Thunderbolts. I got the last one at about 4PM (reserved it at 3PM). She also said they had 200 iPhones and didn't sell close to all of those the first day. I'm interested to see the sales numbers.

Still getting good speeds at my house. I'm about 40 miles north from Atlanta for reference. Going to try pushing and pulling a file from work to verify.

LULZ, was @ the Verizon store to try to score an iPad, left with a TB...

The unlimited data plan sold me, and did I mention the flipping speed? 10kps down easy with 56 ms ping.

wow. Those speedtests can't be right. Is it? This just became the best Android phone. Insane download and especially upload speeds. I'm super impressed. Now I want this phone.
