Exactly. I just want my phone to work. If I wanted to tinker, I would get a netbook and install Linux on it.

I'm also happy having one iPhone model come out a year, whereas Android fans don't seem to mind a hot new Android phone coming out what seems like once a month.

Annnnnnnd what is wrong with that? Most of the people that buy these android phones don't even tinker. They just use it. I used to tinker with my smartphone but now I just use it. I think tinkering is transitory.

Let's not forget that if you did want to tinker and customize, the iphone can do it fairly easily. Apple may not like it, but you can still do it.

Yes, like I said, Android fans like having a lot of choices, there's nothing wrong with that. Android phones "just work" too, my Mother-in-law bought a Droid several months ago and she hasn't called me once with a question. She's not technical AT ALL, I had to help her set up her keyboard and monitor when she bought a new PC a couple of years ago, yet somehow she's able to figure out how to work this amazingly complicated Android phone. And surprisingly enough, she doesn't even have a college degree, crazy right?

She must have at least worked in IT though. How'd she manage the bash prompt?

Funny, my sister-in-law had to root her HTC Hero and run a bunch of shell commands to uninstall the Nascar app.

As we know, Apple fans don't like having choices. They only like what's given to them.

Well thank goodness she knows bash, because the phone doesn't "just work" unless you uninstall that Nascar app...

Also LOL @ your assertion that the iphone OS is the best OS. Sorry, it can't even get in throwing distance of webOS or android.

LOL. Android, the OS that COPIED everything that apple did right on iOS, is way beyond iOS?

Let me know when your phone lasts a couple days on 1 charge without having to turn everything off.

I would love to have a phone last an entire day on 1 charge much less multiple days. With that being said, it's not worth doubling my cell phone bill to give up my sweet Sprint plan and move to ATT for the iPhone. :(

So true. I wish the iPhone was on verizon or sprint. One can dream.

That's not really an issue for a lot of people. I don't spend all day out in the woods without any access to electricity like some of you do, there's probably others like me.

It may not be an issue for you, but its a glaring product flaw that will keep me away from buying into android until they fix it. My laptop computer can last longer than an evo, under somewhat stressful conditions, can. Thats pretty terrible.

I used my iPhone 4 all weekend (Friday night - Sunday night) under normal conditions (2 - 4 hours pandora streaming, <1 hour internet viewing, ~30 mins on phone, 100 - 300 text messages) and on Sunday around 6 PM it was sitting at 10% battery life. Can you do that with any android device?

Believe it or not, but battery life is VERY important to some people on a PORTABLE device. It isn't rocket science.

lol @ product flaw. I can't speak to the evo because I have a Droid. My Droid's battery life is perfectly acceptable. I can get through a day of normal use without any problems. I have absolutely no need to go from Friday night to Sunday afternoon without plugging my phone in, and I doubt many people need to go that long without plugging in there phone, making your point completely irrelevant.

Most people want to just get through a normal day and are fine plugging their phone in when they're in the car and/or once they're home. Obviously you need to go for 3 days without having access to a wall socket or a car charger, so I guess the iphone is a perfect choice for you.

Even if the iphone had a battery that lasted 10 years it still would not make it a better phone for ME, and I know a lot of other people that are like me. Take your elitism to the apple forum please.

PSA: My Droid lasts over a full day on a single charge with moderate use. The problem is that the base Android OS does not have great battery optimization features. I have power profiles that have made the phone great on battery use.

*waits for the "well you had to root it to do that!!!!111" comments*

Also, this.

I had my Droid for ~3 months prior to rooting and such with never an issue with battery life. I charge it every night, which btw on lithium ion batteries you should charge it frequently without fully draining the battery.

Oh, and if I cared about battery life (or it wasn't enough for me), I'd just buy a second battery and switch it out. Lets see you do that with an iPhone.

To each their own. My Droid works perfectly for my current needs, and I enjoy the aftermarket aspect of it (different ROMs, kernals, skins, etc). Also, the network I'm on is better for my needs. If your iPhone works for you, great and more power to you. Just don't act like it's a gift from God himself, although it kind of sounds like you might consider Jobs your God based on the foaming at the mouth about how great the iPhone is.

my myTouch could easily go 2 days on a single charge. The problem is that I use my phone constantly. From the time I wake up until the time I go to sleep I am usually doing something on it. With BT and/or wifi enabled I get right about a day per charge.

Maybe its that iPhone people can't do as much on their phones and that's why they get such great battery life?

Kidding :p
