Sempron 2500 - 400 PR points = AthlonXP 2100 (Tbred/Thortons)

-400 PR points dont apply to Sempron 3000 and 3100 (3000 is Barton core, 3100 is A64 Architecture)

Aye, it is tempting. Thanks for the info. I used to be up-and-up on all these AMD things, now all these strange rules to their rating system has me confused.

Still tempting... damn. Hey ride525 (or anyone else that bought this). What is the motherboard it comes with? Is it a Baby ATX form factor?

right now the motherboard is a ECS k7vta3. But they have had a ECS n2u400 also on past AMD combo deals.

I thought an even hotter deal was the Athlon XP 2800+ with n2u400 motherboard in today's (Monday's) Fry's ad.............

I'd tend to say it is closer to 2200+, because you get a slight performance boost from the 333FSB on the Sempron over the 2100+ Athlon XP with the same clock speed and cache on a 266MHz FSB. Ought to be worth at least 100 PR points.

That's the deal I'm waiting for, but they don't seem to post it on Outpost anymore. :(

All the local Fry's ads say they are limited to stock on hand, so maybe the Outpost warehouses are sold out of their inventory and Fry's is trying to sell down their in-store stock with the ads.

bump because I just bought this combo today. The site says it is in stock on the product page.

I also found a nice comparison review of the various AMD 2500+ cpus. barton, mobile, and sempron. The Sempron is right in there in most of the benchmarks.

According to an Outpost.com CSR, these are supposed to be restocked mid to late November ...

This is hot! Man I am going broke because I work 4 blocks from Fry's. In fact, I can see the building from my office. I just have to get around to it.

I scored one of these combos when the original deal surfaced 3 or 4 weeks ago.
Watch out fer the mobo...the version showing on the box was NOT what the actual mobo was. I made that discovey the hard way...flashed the wrong BIOS version.
I got it fixed using Uniflash to to a boot block BIOS flash. That was a result of Wimsbios.com great forum. Thought I was going to have to score another mobo.
The $69.99 is a great deal.
